new watercolour half pans from deep deep light

Deep Deep Light watercolour swatches

Swatched today!

I just tried out 45 new half pans from Deep Deep Light—and they are absolutely delicious.

They just need a light spritz of water and a couple of minutes to soften (like rewetting dried tube paints), and then they’re ready to go. The colours are intensely saturated. Lovely.

This first swatch sheet is simply to line up names with colours—always helpful since dried pans don’t always reveal what they’ll look like on paper.

Next on the list? Bigger swatches as I see a number of intriguing granulating colours in these swatches and a few which are mixes where the pigments seem to separate beautifully. And of course, the ultimate test will be trying them out in an actual painting to see how they flow. I'm already inspired by a number of beautiful colours well suited to autumn that I see here.

A small note: these are my first non-vegan paints, as they use honey as a binder.
