I get asked a lot about what materials I use and advice for those starting out with watercolours or wanting to try something new.

Sketchbooks
It's no secret that I love sketchbooks. I've tried many different kinds over the years and have lots of advice if you're wanting to purchase a sketchbook.
My watercolour palette
What colours / pigments / watercolour brands do I use? Probably the question I'm asked the most often.
Watercolour brushes
I'm try to make ethical choices in all my watercolour supplies, especially for my brushes.
Pens & ink
Almost all my work includes pen work, either as a detailed pen drawing before the watercolour wash, or after the washes for detailing.
Watercolour paper
This should probably have been at the top of the list of your questions. Watercolour paper is the number one thing that will help make painting in watercolours easier.
Hiking sketching kit
Never leave home without sketching gear. I have a minimalist set of gear I take hiking with me.
